Director A M R Ramesh, who is busy making a biopic on sandalwood smuggler Veerappan, titled Vana Yuddham, has roped in veteran actress Jayachitra to play the role of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, during whose regime the forest brigand was shot dead.

The movie already has popular faces like Arjun (playing the role top police officer Vijayakumar), Kishore (as Veerappan) and Chennai 600028 fame Vijayalakshmi (as Veerappan's wife Muthulakshmi).

Confirming the latest development, Ramesh, who is popular for realistic movies like Kuppi and Kavalar Kudiyiruppu, says, 'Yes, I have signed Jayachitra madam to play the role of Tamil Nadu Chief Miinister.'

Stating that the film is taking shape fast, the director adds: 'I have been making Vana Yuddham after doing intense research and meeting up police officials and people of the areas where Veerappan lived. It will be a balanced movie.'
