The Hollywood actress turned 42 on February 11 and her closest pals wanted to do something special for her big day. Jennifer usually spends her birthday relaxing on a beach in Mexico, but this year she chose to celebrate in New York. Realising the actress would be in the US city on her birthday, her friends organised a lavish dinner party at the Spotted Pig restaurant.

Thirty guests celebrated with Jennifer - including a host of famous faces such as Hollywood hunk Jake Gyllenhaal, but insiders insist the pair are not romantically involved. The currently single actress was even overheard making a joke about being linked to every man she is seen with.

There were a few toasts to her and to the New Year, a source told the American edition of OK! magazine. [Jennifer and Jake] have chemistry, but they didnt sit together at dinner.

A representative for Jennifer has also shot down reports she has fallen for 30-year-old Jake.

They are not dating. They have been friends for many years, the representative said.

The actress enjoyed her visit to New York and recently revealed she has been looking and looking for a property in the city, sparking rumours she is hoping to move there this year. (C) Cover Media
