(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jennifer Hudson has revealed she drew on her life experiences while penning her new album.
The 29-year-old American songstress was inspired by diary entries she wrote following the murders of her family members for her new record, Remember Me.
Jennifer was left devastated in October 2008 when her mother Darnell Donerson, her brother Jason Hudson and her seven-year-old nephew Julian King were found dead having suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
The title of her new album is based on a poem written by Jennifer and one of the songs features the same name.
"I'm excited about this album because it's almost like a renewal for me, reflected through the chapters of my life," she told ET. "I've called it I Remember Me because of the journey I've been on. I've learned that life constantly surprises you, no matter your plans.
The singer is still coming to terms with the loss of her loved ones, and has paid tribute to her fans for helping her through her grief. She hopes that she can repay their kindness by delivering a heartfelt record.
My fans have been so loyal, I feel like they have been on this journey with me and I can't wait for them to hear the new album," she added.
Jennifers music video for her first single Where You At - which was produced by R&B star R. Kelly premiered in America last night on cable network BET. (C) Cover Media
