(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jennifer Hudson says it was creepy when she heard the song R. Kelly had written for her.

The singer-and-actress is currently promoting her new album Remember Me, which features Where You At a track penned by R. Kelly. Jennifer couldnt believe how the music superstar managed to capture her personality in the lyrics without even meeting her.

She is thrilled to have been given the opportunity to collaborate with such a big name in the industry and was overwhelmed by the lengths he went to when he was writing the tune.

R. Kelly was somewhere writing for me at the time and I didnt even know it. He just sent me this song and I didnt want to get my hopes up too high, you know, of working with someone like R. Kelly, she explained to MTV. They told me R. Kelly put up a shrine of pictures of you to channel you and he created this song. And it was kind of creepy to me because when I heard the song I was like, Oh my God. I was in studio recording and he is giving me me, this is something I would do, this is something I would say. And I had never even met him. I didnt meet him until two weeks later and I was like, This is bizarre.

But that is one of my favourite things about the album, working with people like R. Kelly and Alicia Keys.

Jennifer went on to reveal that spending time in the recording studio with Alicia Keys was one of her favourite sessions ever. The pair became friends when they starred in the movie The Secret Life of Bees and have remained close since.

Jennifer also spoke about the title of her album and how she feels she has been through so much in her life so far.

The star was left devastated in October 2008 when her mother Darnell Donerson, her brother Jason Hudson and her seven-year-old nephew Julian King were found dead having suffered multiple gunshot wounds. The title of her new album is based on a poem written by Jennifer and one of the songs features the same name.

Jennifer is now raising a family of her own she has a 19-month-old son with her fianc David Otunga and the pair are planning to wed soon.

She wants her fans to know what she has been through and feels the album title aptly reflects her journey.

I decided to name the album Remember Me because I felt like in the 29 years that I have lived I have had four lives, there is nothing the same as it was ten years ago. So thats where it came from, she added. I feel like my life is different chapters in a book, and I am like, OK, whats going to happen next?

Its like a new me, its like a new introduction to myself. (C) Cover Media
