Jennifer Lopez devastated' by love split

18th July 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jennifer Lopez is reportedly "devastated" by the breakdown of her seven year marriage to Marc Anthony.

The pair, who have three-year-old twins Max and Emme together, announced they had gone their separate ways on Friday. The news came as a surprise to many as they were thought to be very happy together.

However, sources close to the couple have told a US publication that the pair had been struggling for years to keep their relationship together. Those near to the couple are apparently not surprised the marriage has finally come to an end.

"They went to marriage counselling. She was patient and loving and did everything he wanted her to... She exhausted all the possibilities and tried everything she could to make it work," the insider told US Weekly.

"They had a very up and down marriage," a second source told the publication. "They would get into heated, horrible fights. Then, they would also go through times when they were extremely loving and romantic... It was a roller coaster with them from the beginning."

Jennifer is likely to remain in Los Angeles and retain primary custody of their two children. She has yet to announce if she is returning for the next season of American Idol but will reportedly want to stay in the city to rebuild her life.

"She is devastated. Absolutely beside herself. This is someone she dedicated a long time to, and that she truly loved," a source shared.

The 41-year-old is said to be looking forward to the future and has a new clothing line and exciting projects coming up including a starring role in romantic comedy What To Expect When You're Expecting, which starts filming next month.

Meanwhile, Latin heartthrob William Levy who starred with Jennifer in her steamy music video I'm Into You, has denied reports that he was having an affair with the singer.

Known as the Cuban Brad Pitt, a representative for William told TMZ that "the only relationship there was, or is, is a professional relationship". (C) Cover Media
