Jennifer Love Hewitt's mother Patricia Hewitt has died.

The actress's mother was 67 and passed away from complications due to cancer today.

She is survived by her actress daughter and son, Dr. Todd Hewitt.

"She was an angel to all who knew her and they are grateful she is now in a better place," Jennifer's representative said in a statement. "They ask for privacy at this difficult time."

Jennifer had moved from Texas to Los Angeles with her mother over 20 years ago to pursue her acting career.

Although she has starred in shows like Party of Five and movies including I Know What You Did Last Summer, Jennifer laughed that her mother was proudest of her most recent hit, The Client List.

"My mom's like, I'm so proud. You're pole dancing and you're going to play a prostitute. Awesome!'" Jennifer joked to ET.

"It's like, Yeah, what you always dreamed about, mama!' But you know, it's a great part."
