(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jeremy Renner feels like Bono when fans scream at him.

The actor has had a sterling year, earning a best actor Oscar nomination for his role in The Hurt Locker and also winning parts in Hollywood blockbusters including The Avengers and the new Mission: Impossible movie.

He is still getting used to his new level of fame, and says appearing at the Comic-Con event in San Diego was quite an experience. He was there to promote The Avengers, in which he will Clint Barton/Hawkeye, and couldnt believe how excited the fans were.

That's bananas. That's bananas for everybody, for Robert Downey Jr. and Sam Jackson. You can never get used to that unless you're Bono, he said. Maybe he's not used to that. It's a strange thing, having 7,000 people scream at you, whether they love you or they hate you. I don't know, it could have been half and half.

Jeremy has found becoming more recognisable tough. He loves his job and always tries to make time for fans, but sometimes he does want to be left alone to shop in peace. He also worries about letting something slip unintentionally, as he isnt used to watching his words yet.

I'm a pretty private individual, and I like to stay private. And I'm pretty free-spirited and pretty giving, and I get taken advantage of, just being too nice sometimes, he told MTV. It's nice to go to Starbucks for a coffee, but it gets difficult when you have to have 19 conversations to get a cup of coffee. People are usually very respectful, but sometimes I don't want to chat. It's a wonderfully high-class problem. I just have to be conscious of what I do and what I say and where I go. I have to be careful about speaking off the cuff. I do have a mouth on me.
