Jessica Alba settles lawsuit

5th July 2012

Jessica Alba is the victor in her lawsuit against post-pregnancy weight loss company Belly Bandit.

The actress sued the business, which produces girdles for women who have just given birth, for using her image and name on promotional material without her consent.

Jessica asked for more than a million dollars in damages and a share of the money that Belly Bandit has made using her likeness.

TMZ reports that Belly Bandit agreed to compensate Jessica an unspecified amount and to stop using her name in their advertising. The case has since been dismissed.

The original legal documents attest that Belly Bandit's packaging had an endorsement on it that says, "Jessica Alba's #2 Secret for a Fast Post Pregnancy Slimdown!"

Jessica's lawsuit said the company also had "prominently featured and posted a photograph of Alba, and listed her name under the Celebrity Testimonials' section of their Website."

The Hollywood star has daughters Honor, three, and nine-month-old Haven with her husband Cash Warren.

Jessica is also owner of eco-friendly household goods business The Honest Company and is releasing a guidebook called The Honest Life.
