Joe Jonas: I tried to date Kevins wife

16th March 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Joe Jonas hit on his brother Kevins wife before they started dating.

Joe and Kevin, 23, made their name in band the Jonas Brothers, alongside their other sibling Nick. The group is currently taking a break while the trio concentrate on solo projects. Nick and Joe are both creating music, while Kevin wed his partner Danielle Deleasa in 2009 and is enjoying married life.

Joe, 21, and Nick get on very well with Danielle, which is good as they spend a great deal of time together. Joe has revealed it was actually him who tried it on with the former hairdresser first, but she preferred his brother.

Actually, I hit on her first, he laughed. And after that she and Kevin hit it off, of course. Now we have a fourth person travelling with us everywhere, so that's a different thing completely.

Joe is currently in a relationship with Twilight star Ashley Greene, and the romance is going from strength to strength. He has met her family and gets on very well with them, and is particularly enamoured with her father.

I think what works about it is she really puts my feelings first. She understands my busy schedule. She'll fly out to my shows - she's been to places in South America that I can't even pronounce, he told Details magazine.

Her dad can drink me to shame. He's awesome."

Joes solo record is yet to get a title, but he has enjoyed making it. The process has been very different to that which he goes through with the Jonas Brothers, and hes hinted he hasnt always been happy with the music they have produced. The star explained it can be hard to get your ideas across in a band scenario.

I'm growing up, the fans are growing up," he explained. "I've gone through a lot of stuff in my life so far. There are stories I haven't really been able to tell. When you're writing with three people, you wind up with a sound that might be - not average - but, you know, expected."

The new album includes songs about past relationships, including one which left Joe hurt. He wont discuss who it was with, but says being dumped two years ago left him devastated.

It was Nicks foray into the music industry with his band Nick Jonas & The Administration which spurred Joe into action. He was in awe of his 18-year-old brothers talent, even if they release didnt go quite to plan.

[The band] were sitting in this beautiful hotel [in Rome]. And I was starting to think, 'I really wanna do a solo project.' My brother Nick did one. It wasn't really as big as He wasn't really hoping for it to be huge," Joe said. "It was more for himself. He wanted to do a record that he really believed in. And so I was like, 'I would really like to make music that inspires me,' 'cause with the Jonas Brothers stuff, we can be constricted in what we can and cannot do. (C) Cover Media
