(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Joe Jonas says his upcoming solo album is "honest".
The singer made his name in band the Jonas Brothers, alongside siblings Kevin and Nick. The group is currently taking a break while the trio concentrate on solo projects.
Joe explained his upcoming release is a "coming of age" record and says he would rather be honest with his music, even if it means dividing listeners.
"I wanted to be really honest with what I wrote about, whether good or bad. I think it's a coming of age record too, it has a feel you can play in the club, but also there are songs that I think are heartfelt," he told People.
The 21-year-old confessed the recording process felt very different because he was flying solo. Joe feels positive about his work however, because it allowed him more input and say into what direction he wanted to go in.
"It's a whole new experience for me. I mean, a good experience, because I'm able to write songs that I have been wanting to write for a long time. It's completely brand new to me," he added. (C) Cover Media
