(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Johnny Depp was impressed by Angelina Jolies dark, perverse sense of humour.
The Hollywood superstars worked together for the first time in new movie The Tourist, a loose remake of the French thriller Anthony Zimmer. Johnny and Angelina had a great time together on set, and the heartthrob has revealed it was a pleasant surprise to form such a close bond with the beauty.
"You don't know what she might be like - if she has any sense of humour at all," Johnny told the January issue of Vanity Fair. "I was so pleased to find that she is incredibly normal, and has a wonderfully kind of dark, perverse sense of humour."
Johnny says Angelina constantly made him laugh with her risqu jokes and he went on to compare her to one of the greatest ever actresses in Hollywood. He saw similar character traits in Angelina as he did in Dame Elizabeth Taylor and has compared their hilarious personalities.
"I've had the honour and the pleasure and the gift of having known Elizabeth Taylor for a number of years," he explained. "You you know, you sit down with her, she slings hash, she sits there and cusses like a sailor, and she's hilarious. Angie's got the same kind of thing, you know, the same approach."
The 47-year-old hunk admits he feels sorry for Angelina because her life is constantly scrutinised. The 35-year-old actress raises six children with her long-term partner Brad Pitt and Johnny has no idea how she copes with being dogged by paparazzi.
The actor doesnt enjoy living in the public spotlight and prefers to keep a low-profile with his partner Vanessa Paradis and their two kids.
Although Johnny loves making movies, he is considering taking a break from films to go and try something different.
"[Marlon Brando said,] Why don't you just take a year and go and study Shakespeare, or go and study Hamlet... and play that part," he added. "And I would like to. I'd really, really like to." (C) Cover Media
