(Cover) - EN Movies - Movie bosses are struggling to cast an actor to play John Gotti Jr. in the new biopic Gotti: Three Generations.
The film will follow the relationship between John Gotti Sr., the head of the Gambino crime family who died in prison in 2002, and his son John Gotti Jr., who took over the family business from his father. John Travolta has been confirmed as the mafia don, with Al Pacino, Lindsay Lohan, Kelly Preston and Joe Pesci also appearing in the movie.
However, it has been claimed a host of actors including James Franco and Johnny Depp have turned down the role of John Jr., leaving bosses unsure of who will play the character.
"Franco turned it down and Depp, Jeremy Renner and Downey Jr. were too busy with other movies," executive producer Marty Ingels told the New York Post. "We are going to have to put out an urgent casting call. Junior is a big part of this movie. It is very much his story."
Filming is due to begin at the end of the year in New York, with Barry Levinson directing the picture. Gotti: Three Generations is scheduled to be released in 2013. (C) Cover Media
