Johnny Depp is said to be "hurt" that Vanessa Paradis "actually seems to have something" with her rumoured new lover.

The actor announced his split from his partner of 14-years Vanessa last week, after reports about the state of their relationship had been swirling for months.

The pair - who were said to be living "separate lives" for some time - have since been linked to other people, with reports Johnny has been romancing his The Rum Diary co-star Amber Heard.

Vanessa has been linked to musician Matthieu Chedid, which is said to have wounded her former beau.

"This is the end now. They're both upset and dreaded their split being so dissected in public. They've both been linked with other people, but Johnny is hurt Vanessa actually seems to have something with her new guy," a source told British magazine Closer.

It was also revealed last week that Vanessa could receive as much as $156 million in an out-of-court settlement. Johnny - who was never married to Vanessa - is said to be considering the large sum as he wants to ensure the split remains amicable.

The source added that the pair want to remain civil for the sake of their children.

"They want to stay friends, but they were making each other unhappy. Vanessa didn't like Johnny's partying and moods," the insider added.

Johnny and Vanessa have two children together; Lily-Rose, 13, and Jack, nine.
