(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jonah Hill loved seeing kids "lose their minds" while promoting Superbad.
The 27-year-old toured colleges with co-stars Michael Cera and Chris Mintz-Plasse to bring attention to the 2007 film.
Jonah was delighted to see the movie being so well received by young people.
"One of the greatest moments of my career was on the road promoting Superbad," Jonah explained to Esquire. "We were showing the movie at colleges. The kids were losing their minds."
However, the kids didn't find all the scenes easy to watch. The star recalled how incredible it was to watch as the youngsters "squirmed" in their seats through some of the more emotional scenes.
"There's that moment in the sleeping-bag scene when Michael and I say I love you' to each other, and all those kids kinda squirmed in their seats in the weirdest way. [Simpsons producer] James L. Brooks wrote the Superbad gang an e-mail after he saw it, and it was really beautiful for us because we all worship him, obviously," he explained.
"He watched Superbad with his son, and there was a moment where he looked at his son and realised his son couldn't handle the realisation that he loved his best friend."
Jonah also admitted that he is considering taking a break from acting from a while to concentrate on directing. The star has been asking some of his A-List friends for advice including Judd Apatow, Seth Rogen and Greg Mottola. However, Black Swan director Darren Aronofosky wasn't too supportive.
"I sat next to Darren Aronofsky once and he asked, What are you gonna do?' And I'm like, Well, I really wanna be a director.' He said, Why? It's so hard.' He was genuinely perplexed," Jonah laughed.
"But writing has made me a better actor. Acting has made me a better writer. So why wouldn't directing make me a better actor and writer? And acting and writing would make me a better director. You know what I'm saying?" (C) Cover Media
