(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Joshua Jackson says that his first date with girlfriend Diane Kruger back in 2006 was "miserable."

The couple now has a close relationship and they are more in love than ever.

But the Fringe actor told Us Weekly that it could so easily not have worked out after his efforts to impress the 36-year-old star did not go well.

"Our first date was a miserable one," Joshua told the publication.

"I took her to an Italian restaurant, and there was some flower that was blooming She was allergic to it so she sniffled and sneezed the entire time.

"And when I get nervous, you might have noticed I talk a lot. So I just chewed her ear off for an hour and a half. It was amazing. I'm surprised she ever called back."

The 34-year-old actor also admitted that that they are thinking about starting a family because he's "at that age."

Joshua added that he would not be opposed to making an appearance on his Dawson's Creek co-star James Van Der Beek's comedy Don't Trust the B---- in Apt. 23.

"I think it would be really funny, just as a nice coda to get us all back together," Joshua said. "I think that would be all right." (C) Cover Media
