Justin Bieber freaked out by movie

17th February 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Justin Bieber found watching his movie creepy because he hates seeing his face blown up on the big screen.

The Canadian pop sensation was discovered in 2008, but achieved worldwide success last year when he released his single Baby in January.

The singer was followed by a film crew from summer 2010 leading up to his concert at Madison Square Garden at the end of August last year. The resulting 3D movie, Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, was released in America earlier this month, and the star has admitting shooting it left him feeling vulnerable. Watching it back was just as bad, as he felt exposed and awkward.

It was a little creepy. I felt self-conscious. My face is so big and you can see everything! he told Cover Media.

The film is helmed by Step Up 3D director Jon Chu, and Justin admits it took him a while to get on board with the idea.

I didnt really know what was going on. It was [Justins manager] Scooters master plan and I was like, Yeah I would like to do that, then all of a sudden [director] Jon Chu shows up with a camera and starts filming me, Justin said. Im like, Who is this random guy who keeps filming me? And then I was told we were making a movie.

Jon shot an insane amount of footage, but felt it was necessary in order to catch the moments which truly represent Justins hectic and unpredictable lifestyle. The director who revealed he was keen to tell an underdog story admitted Justin wasnt happy when he first turned up, but he soon warmed to his ever-present filming.

We fought a little bit at first and Justin was like, I dont want you here, he said. We had an insane amount of footage. Ive seen every moment of this guys life. Its a little bit weird Im not going to lie!

Justin Bieber: Never Say Never grossed $30.3 million for the weekend it was release in America, and was narrowly beaten by the romantic comedy Just Go With It. The film is said to have exceeded industry expectations.

It is released in the UK on February 18. (C) Cover Media
