Justin Bieber gifted rare car for birthday

1st March 2012

Justin Bieber has been gifted a rare luxury car for his 18th birthday.

The teenage pop sensation appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres show to talk about his upcoming album and was surprised with a very special gift for the milestone anniversary.

The Baby singer was presented with a Fisker Karma sports car, a Finnish hybrid design featuring a solar panel roof and eco-friendly interior.

The vehicles are extremely rare and cost between $102,000 and $116,000.

"You work really really hard. I always yell at you, 'Don't get anything flashy!' You know, we're not about that. Be humble, be humble. And I kind of broke my own rule," Justin's manager Scooter Braun told him. "We wanted to make sure, since you love cars, that when you're on the road you are always environmentally friendly. And we decided to get you a car that would make you stand out I think you know where I'm going, and you're kind of freaking out right now. That's a Fisker Karma."

Justin seemed lost for words upon receiving the expensive gift.

The heartthrob couldn't quite believe one of the most-wanted cars in the world would be his.

"That's for me?! That's crazy!" he exclaimed.

Celebrity eco-warrior Leonardo DiCaprio owns the first ever Fisker Karma ever made and US politicians Al Gore and Colin Powell were among the first to join the waiting list for the rare cars.

Justin was also treated to a personalised birthday singsong by actress and singer Megan Mullally.

The former Will & Grace star serenaded him with Fever, but changed the words in the chorus to You give me Bieber'.

To top off a spectacular show, Justin used the opportunity to announce the release his new single Boyfriend.

To the delight of teenagers all over the world, the star revealed that his latest offering will be available from March 25.
