Justin Bieber paternity suit dropped'

16th November 2011

A paternity lawsuit against Justin Bieber has reportedly been dropped.

The 17-year-old star was accused of getting a fan pregnant following a "30-second tryst" backstage at one of his concerts last year.

However, TMZ are now reporting that Mariah Yeater has dismissed her legal case seeking a paternity test and child support.

It has been claimed the 20-year-old mother made her decision last week.

"Justin Bieber's baby mama has dismissed her paternity lawsuit against the singer ...," reports TMZ. "The suit was quietly dismissed late last week."

The website also alleges that Mariah's legal team Lance Rogers and Matt Pare have withdrawn from the case.

Justin vehemently denied he was the father of the three-month-old baby.

He vowed to take a DNA test to disprove the claims when he returned to the US.

A court date for the case had been scheduled for December.

The teen heartthrob's lawyer Howard Weitzman is believed to have contacted Mariah's legal team to inform them that a "lawsuit was looming" in the wake of her claims.

The baby, Tristyn Anthony Markhouse Yeater, was born in July.

Earlier this week, Justin slammed Mariah for trying to use him to gain fame.

"I guess for attention," Justin said of Mariah's allegations. "But it's not something I am interested in. These people are not worth my thought or time."

Justin and his girlfriend Selena Gomez have maintained a united front throughout the claims.
