Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are "tighter than ever" despite break-up rumours.

It was reported the singer's 18-month romance with Selena had hit a rocky patch following a series of arguments. However, insiders close to Justin and Selena insist they have no plans to end their romance.

"[Breaking up is] the furthest thing from the truth you can imagine," a source told E! Online. "If anything, they are tighter now more than ever."

Although the source admitted 18-year-old Justin and Selena, 19, argue from time to time, they are just like any other young couple in love.

Insiders have also confirmed to JustJared.com that the pair "had a pretty big fight but made it through".

Speculation was rife that the pair had "broken up multiple times", even as recently as last week.

"[They're not] solid," a source told TMZ.

Justin and Selena were last seen in public at the premiere for Katy Perry's new movie in Hollywood. After watching the documentary, they partied with Robert Pattinson.

The young stars have been forced to maintain a long-distance relationship of late.

Justin has been travelling around the world promoting his new album Believe, while Selena has been in Bulgaria shooting a film.
