Recently at a press meet actor Kamal Haasan on Monday advocated sorting out film financing issues as otherwise 'various other methodologies come into play including legal hassles, and illegal underworld elements’.
The producers also need to comply with repayment schedules on loans availed from mainstream financial institutions,' the versatile actor said.
He was speaking at a press meet in Chennai to announce the third Media and Entertainment Business Conclave (MEBC) 2011 hosted by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). Kamal is the chairman of the conclave.
He pitched for reduction in entertainment tax levied on films saying there should be no second thoughts about it in order to keep the industry healthy.
'It should be reduced...there is no second thoughts about it. People like me who do not have any political lineage and those who want the industry to thrive will ask for the same...', he said.
