Playing the role of a loving wife in 'Gangster', a superstar in 'Woh Lamhe' and a model in 'Fashion', Kangna Ranaut is all set to play the role of a struggling nautch girl in Vishwas Patil's directorial venture.
Titled 'Rajjo', the film will talk about the changing scenarios of Mumbai. It looks into the issues of mujra houses that are dying a slow death in today's competitive world. 'Rajjo' also depicts the love story between a Muslim nautch girl and a Brahmin boy.
Author and historian Vishwas states that there is no doubt that Kangna is a very talented actress. But what appealed to him more was that she has a strong Indianness that hasn't been explored enough. Hence, he knew that she would be the best to pull off this role.
When Kangna heard the script of the film, she immediately knew that she wanted to be a part of it. Besides the lead, the movie also stars Mahesh Manjrekar in the role of a eunuch and Prakash Raj, who plays a politician.
The film is produced by Four Pillar Entertainment which will go on floors soon and will hit the theatres in 2013.
