Karan Johar shuns 100 Crore pressure

4th August 2012

Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar began the year on a high when his production film 'Agneepath' became the first film of 2012 to gross more than 100 crores at the box office.

But now that he is ready with his next directorial film 'Student of the Year', the filmmaker exclaims that he wants no extra baggage of scoring 100 crores at the box office yet again.

Though he is not ruling out the expectations, he just confesses that he wants no pressure on him and his film.

"I don't know why we are tagging films with the 100-crore-mark. There is too much pressure of 100 crores. At the end of the day the film is here for longevity and it is not necessary that every 100 crore film will breathe forever," said the filmmaker.

He added that the score is like a big achievement that everyone would love to bag, "A 100-crore-mark is like a big glorious century and it is great to achieve it. But if you achieve 10 crore less or more, it does not make your film smaller or bigger," added Karan.

The film directed by Karan stars debutants Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Siddharth Malhotra and is slated to release on 19th October.
