It is a very rare star who gets their wax figure displayed at Madame Tussauds. Only five Bollywood stars have achieved this distinction.

 
Kareena Kapoor now joins the league and her wax figure will be unveiled in October 2011. The launch of her wax figure will also flag off a global Bollywood exhibition, where the Bollywood wax figures will travel to six cities including London, Hong Kong and Bangkok, thus reflecting a growing global interest in Bollywood.

 
Kareena Kapoor said "It is an honour and a privilege for me to have my wax-figure at Madame Tussauds and even more so to flag off a global Bollywood exhibition. This is a moment of pride for Indian cinema."

 
Matthew Titherington, General Manager at Madame Tussauds Blackpool, said that they were very excited to have Kareena in Blackpool to launch their amazing Bollywood figures and that it was an honour to have her there. He added that the UK would be very excited to see her and her new wax figure. It is the first time these figures will be grouped together.


He also stated that was the perfect place to launch the Bollywood World tour with the dedicated Bollywood room.
