On Thursday, DMK president and former Tamilnadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi called Superstar Rajinikanth, who had returned to Chennai on Wednesday night after undergoing treatment for kidney-related ailment in Singapore and enquired about his health condition.

In return, the gracious superstar, known for his impeccable manners and well-rounded concern, asked about the ex-CM's health and daughter Kanimozhi, who is currently languishing in Delhi's Tihar Jail over her alleged role in the 2G spectrum scam.

'Rajini thanked Kalaignar (Karunanidhi) and enquired about his health and about Kanimozhi's well-being,' a press release from DMK headquarters Anna Arivalayam said.

Rajinikanth, who is taking rest in his farm house in Kelambakkam, is all set to start his next project 'Rana' in October. After he returned from Singapore on Wednesday, Rajini chose to stay in his farm house and take rest.
