(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kat Graham has decided meeting her idols is too disastrous.

The 21-year-old actress portrays Bonnie Bennett in hit US show The Vampire Diaries and has also enjoyed success as a singer with singles including Sassy.

One of her biggest music inspirations is R&B icon Janet Jackson, although after meeting her Kat has decided it may be better to keep away from her heroines.

"When it's your idol, everything's a big deal. I don't want to meet any more people I admire, I've decided!" she laughed to the British edition of OK! magazine.

Kat was humiliated when she wrongly congratulated Janet on her birthday after meeting her backstage at a concert. To make matters worse, the entire conversation was captured on camera.

"I met Janet Jackson in Las Vegas. I went backstage and I had a friend who told us Janet's birthday was the next day so I shouted By the way happy birthday,' and she said: What?'

"Turns out it wasn't her birthday until a month later. I was mortified because all these cameras were filming the moment and loads of fans were around," blushed Kat. (C) Cover Media
