(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kate Hudson is embarrassed about how masculine she looked as a baby.

The actress has seven-year-old son Ryder with her ex-husband Chris Robinson and is expecting her first child with fianc Matt Bellamy. Being pregnant has made Kate think about her own early years, although some of the memories arent altogether pleasant.

Kates mother Goldie Hawn has previously admitted doctors were confused when she came into the world and informed her shed given birth to a boy, something Kate cant get over.

[The doctor] thought I was a boy, she told David Letterman. I had a big head... I was 10lbs., and I guess when I came out... I looked masculine... then they saw the rest of me, and it was definitely not a boy.

Kate went on to reveal Goldie loves to tell the story, especially when shes introducing her daughter to someone new. That comes as no surprise, as the older actress regaled guests at a Hollywood event with the tale last year.

I was lying there and they were slicing and dicing or whatever, I had a C-section, I had my nails done... and all of sudden, out she comes and they said, 'Its a boy!' And I said, 'No its a girl!' And, by the way, I didnt know what it was, she said at ELLE's 17th Annual Women In Hollywood Tribute in October. I just felt that it was a girl. And then they said, 'Oh, no its a girl!' And I said, 'What part of her anatomy were you looking at?! (C) Cover Media
