(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kate Hudson loves being pregnant, revealing it feels like getting stoned.

The Hollywood actress is expecting her first child with British rocker Matt Bellamy. Kate admits the pregnancy is affecting her thought patterns and she sometimes struggles to focus on anything, comparing it to the effect of dabbling with drugs.

Being pregnant is wonderful, Kate told Extra while promoting her film Something Borrowed. You do get the pregnant mush-brain you know what its like? Its like getting stoned.

Kate who also has a seven-year-old son Ryder with her ex-husband Chris Robinson gained a great deal of weight while she was expecting Ryder. The 32-year-old beauty has laughingly revealed that her doctor has begged her not to indulge in her cravings too much this time around. However, Kate is determined to enjoy the pregnancy and not worry about piling on the pounds.

My doctor looked and me and goes, So lets try not to gain 68lbs this pregnancy, Kate added. Im not promising anything.

Kate is convinced she is having a daughter, but has decided not to find out the sex of the baby before the birth. However, her partner Matt is keen to discover if they are expecting a boy or a girl.

"My boyfriend wants to know, but I've convinced him how nice it is not to have expectations of what it is," she told Access Hollywood. "It's hard because you go to a store and you see a little outfit, and it's like a little tiny skirt and you're like, 'Ahhhh! We can't buy it, we gotta wait.' The only expectation that you have is for it to be a healthy baby and then you meet it instead of knowing."

Kate is also refusing to reveal when her due date is, only saying she is seven months along so will be having a summer baby. (C) Cover Media
