(Cover) - EN Movies - Katie Holmes describes Tom Cruise as a "manly romantic" who takes her for rides in his plane as a date.

The Hollywood stars wed in a star-studded ceremony in 2006 and have five-year-old daughter Suri together. Although they've been together a long time and have a family, the pair still understand the importance of having alone time.

Katie, 32, has explained her 49-year-old spouse loves making her feel special and enjoys taking her on dates, which he always tries to make personal.

"Two years ago he took me up on his P-51 Mustang, a fighter plane from World War II. He painted the words, 'Kiss Me, Kate' on the side," she told the August edition of InStyle, where she called her husband a "manly romantic".

"It feels like you're on a bike in the sky. I thought, I'm either going to spend this whole flight totally freaked out or realise this is pretty thrilling."

Both Tom and Katie have hectic work schedules, which means they have to stick to certain rules to ensure their marriage doesn't suffer. They make sure they're never apart for more than a week at a time and keep in touch using Skype.

Being a mother is one of the most important things in the world to Katie. There has been a great deal of speculation about when she and Tom will add to their family, but it's not something she lets affect her.

"My work has changed for the better [since becoming a mom]. I have more to bring to a role," she explained.

"We already have a very big family; a full household with cousins who are over a lot, and she has her friends. My biggest thing is making sure she's fully taken care of and doing well." (C) Cover Media
