Katie Holmes was "locked in" when she saw husband Tom Cruise on her wedding day.

The Hollywood couple married in November 2006 after a short but highly-publicised relationship. Katie says tying the knot was an overwhelming experience.

The star has revealed it was the "proudest moment" in her life.

"I was so nervous. I said to my dad: Do I look OK? This is important.' And he turned to me and said, You look beautiful,'" she recalled.

"The moment the doors opened and I saw Tom I was just locked in. It was just so magical."

Katie has a lot of admiration for Tom's acting career.

The 32-year-old is especially proud of his death-defying action stunts in his movies, including high-octane films like the Mission: Impossible film series.

"It's very exciting and cool, but that's who he is. It's inspiring because he is so dedicated," she gushed in an interview with Closer magazine.

"I have a lot of Mission: Impossible moments too. You know, just the everyday challenges of being a mom!"

Katie and Tom have five-year-old daughter Suri together. Katie enjoys having her daughter around to keep her company when she's on film sets.

The 32-year-old loves motherhood.

"It is just the most wonderful time in my life. Suri's so helpful and so loving, and so smart and bright. She loves to sing and dance," she explained. "At this age you have to keep the activities up to keep them busy.

"She really likes movie sets. She loves the hair and make-up trailer who doesn't?"
