Katy Perry has spoken out for the first time since her divorce was announced, saying her heart is "happy again".
The singer has remained silent since her husband Russell Brand revealed he had filed for divorce after 14 months of marriage.
However, Katy has now taken to her Twitter account to thank fans for their well wishes and kindness as she deals with the split.
"I am so grateful for all the love and support I've had from people around the world," she wrote on Saturday. "You guys have made my heart happy again."
Katy, 27, went on to urge her fans to ignore speculation surrounding the breakdown of her marriage.
"Concerning the gossip, I want to be clear that NO ONE speaks for me," she tweeted. "Not a blog, magazine, 'close sources' or my family (sic)."
Over the weekend, it has been claimed Russell has moved out of the marital home in Hollywood, as the pair have decided that Katy will remain living there.
Earlier this week, it was reported Katy's religious parents had spoken out about the break-up.
Keith and Mary Hudson are pastors and during a sermon, Katy's mother apparently suggested her daughter's divorce had been arranged by God to help boost churchgoers.
"I'm sure Katy is trending on the internet just to get you to church tonight," Mary reportedly told the congregation at the Church on the Rise in Westlake, Ohio.
"I mean all over the world, who knows how God is bringing them in? The most important thing is you are here and God wants to put the fire in you in 2012."
Katy and Russell have not yet publicly discussed the reasons for their split.
It's been claimed he was keen to start a family, while she was more focused on her career.
It has also been suggested that former drug addict and womaniser Russell didn't approve of Katy partying, while Katy had grown tired of Russell joking about her parents' religion.
After announcing their decision to divorce, 36-year-old Russell insisted he would "always adore" Katy and the pair would "remain friends".
Katy is scheduled to make her first public appearance since the divorce at the People's Choice Awards on January 11.
