(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Keanu Reeves loves auditioning, even when he doesnt get the part.
The Hollywood hunk has made a name for himself after appearing in blockbusters such as Speed, The Matrix and the Bill & Ted movies. He enjoys everything about his career, and cant imagine ever doing anything else.
Keanu is amazed by how much the industry has changed since he first started out, and is especially struck by the fact that many young stars now dont audition for parts.
I auditioned for Somethings Gotta Give five times. I dont mind auditioning. I run into situations with young actors where agents dont want them to audition because they dont want their actors or actresses to not get the job, he said. But thats rejection. And [auditioning] itself is a creative endeavour. Im trying, Im trying to hustle and rustle, is what I call it.
The 46-year-old says the best thing about having a lengthy career is he can now be selective about the parts he takes. He only appears in features he is passionate about, and often uses his own cash to run them.
I just try to put myself in positions where I can finance films, he told the British edition of Elle magazine. I want to create work for myself and others. (C) Cover Media
