Keith Urban to celebrate country venue

28th September 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Keith Urban will take to the stage to celebrate the re-opening of a world famous country music venue tonight.

The Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee, was forced to close its doors after it suffered flood damage in May. The venue widely considered the home of country music - is hosting a star-studded show this evening following the completion of its refurbishment.

Urban, Brad Paisley, Martina McBride, Josh Turner, Blake Shelton, Dierks Bentley and Jason Aldean are all scheduled to appear. Their performances will be broadcast live in the US for television show Country Comes Home: An Opry Celebration.

Turner says he is looking forward to playing live at the concert and feels honoured to have been included on the bill. He is confident the show will go down in history as one of the most spectacular ever.

"Every Opry show is special, but the show tonight is going to be so meaningful," Turner says. "It won't be a typical Opry show. It's going to be one for the ages."

The Opry refused to miss a performance during the time it was closed. Instead, live concerts took place in a variety of locations around Nashville. (C) Cover Media
