(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kelsey Grammer and his new girlfriend are expecting a child, it has been confirmed.

Rumours began swirling that the actor and his 29-year-old partner Kayte Walsh were to become parents after she was spotted sporting an apparent baby bump while they were strolling in New York. Kayte’s father, former professional soccer player Alan Walsh, then confirmed she was pregnant to British newspaper The Daily Mail, although Kelsey’s representative had not commented.

The 55-year-old actor’s publicist Stan Rosenfield has now said Kelsey and Kayte are looking forward to becoming parents. “Kayte and Kelsey are happy to confirm what Kayte's father told the London Daily Mail is true,” he said.

Alan had said he was happy for his daughter, explaining she met Kelsey on the social scene in New York and they got on famously. No further details about the pregnancy – which will make Kelsey a father for the fifth time - have been released.

Kelsey confirmed he had split from his third wife Camille Donatacci last month. She filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences, and asked for primary custody of their kids Mason, eight, and five-year-old Jude.

At the time, Kelsey took to his blog and Twitter page to ask his fans to be kind to Camille and treat her with respect. He insisted they had just grown apart. When they split, Kelsey was starring in Broadway production La Cage aux Folles while his family stayed in Los Angeles.

The actor also has daughters Spencer Grammer, 26, and Greer Kandace Grammer, 18, from other relationships. (C) Cover Media
