(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kendra Wilkinson admits that she felt like a "different person" after having a baby, but has now found "balance".
Kendra and husband of two years professional American football player Hank Baskett welcomed son Hank Jr. into the world in December 2009. Initially, first-time mom Kendra was very confused about who she was as a parent.
"[After I had a baby,] I felt like I had to be a different person. I had to be conservative and wear turtlenecks and be someone that I wasn't," Kendra told People magazine Saturday at trendy Wet Republic pool in Las Vegas.
Kendra was eager to get back in shape after having baby Hank. Once she got fit again, her vigour returned.
"Now that I have my body back and I feel good again, I have the perfect amount of balance," Kendra said. "It's all about finding the balance."
Postpartum depression was also a significant battle for Kendra. She found it difficult to remain in positive spirits at times.
"[Postpartum depression] got pretty bad, [but] not to the point where I would harm my family. I was a great mom and did what I needed to, but I was definitely very depressed," Kendra said. "[Motherhood is] a big change in life and it happened overnight."
Kendra has triumphed over the depression and is now enjoying her new life with the family. Although she loves taking care of the clan, Kendra thinks that spending time alone every so often.
"[Motherhood's ]a whole different life, but a better life," she says. "Your baby is no. 1 100 per cent of the time, but I do still take me time you need to do that every now and then. I'm more aware of life." (C) Cover Media
