(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kim Kardashian is cutting short her tour of Australia, cancelling planned appearances in the process.

The reality TV beauty flew to the country shortly after filing for divorce from husband Kris Humphries earlier this week.

However, several Australian news reports have confirmed that the 31-year-old is set to return to the US with her sister Khlo either today or tomorrow.

Kim had a number of appearances scheduled - including Saturday's Melbourne Cup Carnival on behalf of Swisse vitamins, for which she would have reportedly received more than $150,000.

However the stunning star has apologised to organisers and fans alike, as she is no longer able to attend.

"I am very disappointed that I am unable to attend the Swisse marquee but I hope to come back and work with the Swisse team at another point in time," she said in a statement.

TMZ are reporting that Kim is struggling to cope emotionally following the breakdown of her marriage.

The raven-haired star has reportedly told friends that she needs to put her personal needs before her work commitments.

"I need to take care of me now, and I can't work for a while," she allegedly told friends.

It's unclear if Kim plans to put the brakes on her reality show, or whether she'll be more selective about selecting work projects.

Kim and Khlo were in Australia to promote their handbag line.

Meanwhile, Kris Jenner believes her daughter Kim should not have to return her engagement ring.

Basketball star Kris proposed to Kim with a $2 million, 20.5-carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond ring back in May, although Kris recently claimed in an interview with Good Morning America that it was worth "less than half that".

Kim hasn't confirmed what she will be doing with the pricey piece of jewellery yet, although Kris knows what she would do.

"I hate an Indian giver. It's a gift, you know," the 55-year-old TV personality said. (C) Cover Media
