(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kim Kardashian wanted to look like an old-time movie star for her wedding.

The reality TV star married basketball hunk Kris Humphries in a lavish ceremony last weekend. Kim was determined to look her best on the big day and now the people that helped her get ready have lifted the lid on the preparations.

"We wanted to make her an amazing movie star from the 40s,'50s, 60s; like Sophia Loren or Ava Gardner or Elizabeth Taylor," hairstylist Peter Savic told People. "She looked very polished. It was classic and tasteful yet exotic. [We didn't have trials] I just created it that day."

Make-up artist Mario Dedivanovic explained Kim didn't want anything too flashy. She was keen to look like herself and didn't want her cosmetics to swamp her face.

"She wanted to look like the most polished and beautiful version of herself," he explained.

Kim wore gold eyeshadow across her lids with a darker hue in the crease and some highlighter on her brow bone.

The star chose a Vera Wang dress for the nuptials, but changed for the evening party. That meant her make-up had to work with both looks.

"We kept the makeup consistent throughout the whole day and into the evening," Mario explained.

Kim's wedding party all wore white gowns, and her 15-year-old sister Kendall in a figure-hugging fishtail version. She explained Kim chose all the frocks, so comments about her upstaging her sister are wide of the mark.

"Kim was very confident in herself," Kendall told Us Weekly. "You could definitely tell because she put us all in those amazing dresses." (C) Cover Media
