Kim Kardashian suing ex-publicist

14th November 2011

Kim Kardashian has hired a lawyer to sue her ex-publicist for slander.

Kim's former publicist Jonathan Jaxson publicly criticised the reality star's marriage to Kris Humphries last week, equating the union to a sham. He said on morning television programme Good Day L.A. last Friday that the wedding was "staged".

Incensed by Jonathan's statements Kim has recruited powerhouse attorney Marty Singer to file a defamation lawsuit against the publicist.

"Everything that he is saying is false and nonsense," Kim's lawyer Marty told TMZ. "This guy is in it to promote himself for his 15 minutes of fame."

Kim is seeking around $200,000 in damages from Jonathan, claiming he has adversely affected her reputation with his allegations.

The star also believes that Jonathan violated a confidentially agreement that he signed while acting as her employee from 2007-2009.

Jonathan does not recall signing the document.

"I have never signed an agreement dealing with confidentiality with Kim Kardashian," he said on his personal blog Sunday. "I have an agreement in my possession that does not have either parties' signature on it."

Kim also stated that Jonathan's professional obligations to her were minimal as he only worked on one blog project during his employment.

Jonathan is currently promoting his recently published book about his professional life.

Kim filed for divorce from basketball player Kris on Halloween after 72 days of marriage.

Meanwhile, Kim helped her sister Kendall Jenner celebrate her sixteenth birthday over the weekend.

Kim, Khlo Kardashian and her husband Lamar Odom, Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick were at the Andaz Hotel in Hollywood on Saturday night for the party. Kendall was thrilled when her parents Kris and Bruce Jenner presented her with a $90,000 2012 black Range Rover wrapped in a red ribbon.
