Kim Kardashian reportedly wants a "private" divorce.
According to an insider, the reality TV star has instructed her lawyer Laura Wasser to petition for her divorce from Kris Humphries to be heard by a private mediator rather than in a public court hearing.
Kim doesn't want the legal process to be filmed or "played out in public", US website Radar Online reports.
"A public trial is the last thing that Kim wants, and she has instructed her lawyer to formally petition the court so that the divorce can be heard by a mediator, which is routinely done in California, since it's a no-fault state," a source told the publication.
Kim married basketball star Kris in a lavish televised ceremony last summer and filed for divorce just 72 days later.
The sportsman was reportedly surprised by his wife's decision to dissolve the union.
There have been reports that the 27-year-old wants the divorce hearing to be televised in order to reveal the shocking truth of the reality TV business.
"Kim doesn't want a long drawn out trial. She wants the mediation to be private, confidential, and legally binding. She and Kris have no assets together and kept separate bank accounts, so this is a fairly routine divorce proceeding. Kim just wants this over and done with," the insider added.
