Kimberley Walsh: I designed clothes as a child

19th September 2010

(Cover) - EN Fashion - Kimberley Walsh thinks she would be a fashion designer if she wasnt a singer.

The 28-year-old star shot to fame in 2002 when her band Girls Aloud won British reality show Popstars: The Rivals. The girl group has since released a string of hit albums and the bandmates Kimberley, Cheryl Cole, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Nadine Coyle - are now among the most famous women in the UK.

Kimberley is thrilled with their success, but says she always had a back-up in case singing didnt work out. She started designing clothes for her friends and neighbours when she was a child, and thinks she would like to go back to being a fashion designer if her music career failed.

I was a bit of an entrepreneur as a kid and I used to make scrunchies and skirts and sell them on the estate, so if it hadnt worked out as a singer perhaps I would have dug out my old patterns and gone back to selling my handmade outfits, Kimberley wrote in her column in the British edition of OK! magazine.
