(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Lamar Odom is said to be "devastated" following the death of a teen pedestrian who was caught up in an accident involving a car he was travelling in last week.

The 31-year-old US basketball star, husband of television personality Khlo Kardashian, was in New York travelling in a hired car service on Thursday when the incident occurred.

Lamar's vehicle was involved in an accident with a motorcycle which was propelled into the 15-year-old boy.

The teen's family confirmed to TMZ that he had lost his battle after being rushed to hospital with major head injuries from the collision.

He had undergone emergency surgery but died the following day with his funeral held on Monday.

A source close to the LA Lakers basketball player told the website that Lamar was "devastated" by the tragedy.

Khlo's representative confirmed that she was not in the car at the time of the crash.

"Angels are surrounding me always. Thank you (sic)!!" wrote the reality star on her Twitter page after the accident. (C) Cover Media
