Land grabbing complaint against Vadivelu

2nd August 2011

A complaint was lodged at the Chennai Suburban Police Commissionerate on Monday, seeking action against comedian Vadivelu, alleging that he had unlawfully acquired a property. According to the complainant, Palaniappan, who is a former Assistant General Manager of a nationalised bank, land owned by him at Irumbuliyur near Tambaram, was sold to Vadivelu, through comedian Singamuthu, with the help of forged documents.

"When I raised objection, I was threatened with dire consequences. Immediately I filed a police compliant (2009). But there was no proper action," Palaniappan said, requesting the police to initiate necessary action against seven persons, including Vadivelu.

The Chennai Suburban Police Commissoner Rajesh Das, who had received the complaint on Monday, forwarded it for further inquiry to the Central Crime Branch. Investigations are on, according to sources.
