The legendary actor-writer Kader Khan passed away at the beginning of 2019 in Canada and a month after his death he is been awarded the prestigious Padma Shri award for his impeccable contribution in the field of Indian Cinema. In an interview from the past during 2016, Khan was heard speaking about not being recognised for his work in cinema. Recently his son Sarfaraz Khan who in an exclusive statement said that he will accept the honours bestowed by the Government of India graciously. Speaking about this his son Sarfaraz he said, "It's my father's hard work, I will accept it."
Sarfaraz added, "It would have been good him accepting it, but I just want to get it for my father, if God is happy with a person, he still gives respect after the person has left." Kader Khan has worked in more than 300 films and is best known for his work in 'Mard', 'Hum Hain Kamaal Ke', 'Coolie No. 1', 'Dulhe Raja', 'Baap Numbari Beta Dus Numbari', 'Hum', 'Coolie', 'Muqaddar Ka Sikander', 'Angaar', among others.
He passed away at the age of 81. In his last few days, he was following his treatment in a hospital of Canada. His last rites where conducted in a Toronto cemetery.
Apart from actor Kader Khan, Manoj Bajpayee will also be honoured with the award too. along with Singer-composer Shankar Mahadevan who has proficiency in classical and mainstream Hindi film music has also been chosen for the award.
