LeAnn Rimes likes therapy

2nd October 2012

LeAnn Rimes requires "third-party input" to keep sane.

The 30-year-old country singer voluntarily admitted herself into a rehabilitation centre in August to deal with mounting anxiety and stress.

LeAnn feels that she needs mental health professionals in order to be happy.

"I've been in therapy my whole life. I like going," she told the Boston Herald.

"I like being able to have that third-party input and someone to listen that has nothing to do with your life. Everyone has an opinion of how I am and how I should be, and now I'm focusing on how I want to be."

LeAnn's distress stems from the circumstances in which she first met her current husband Eddie Cibrian.

The couple were both married to other people when they began their relationship in 2009, something they were widely criticised for.

"It's hard to take it day after day of reading and seeing things that someone you don't even know says about you," she said.

"As much as you said you don't want it to penetrate, it does, because you're human."

LeAnn's new album Spitfire will be released in spring 2013.
