Leighton Meester and her boyfriend escaped to Rio de Janeiro together last week.

The 26-year-old Gossip Girl star and artist Aaron Himelstein have been dating for five months.

Leighton is reportedly happy with how her romance with Aaron is developing at the moment.

"He's been around for a while. She's been with him since at least November," a source told Us Weekly magazine. "He dotes on her. She definitely likes that in guys."

The pair visited statue Christ the Redeemer at the top of the Corcovado mountain in the Tijuca Forest National Park Friday and frolicked to other famous sights in the romantic city.

Leighton, who split with her former boyfriend Sebastian Stan in 2010 after spending two years together, has spoken before about the romantic challenges she faced in the past.

"I always resist falling in love. My problem is I lose interest," she explained to UK's Look magazine.

"I have a very different concept of what love is and it changes. Every time I've fallen in love, it's just been momentary."

"I don't want to have a boyfriend unless I want to be with him forever. If I don't see an end, that's nice, because I always see an end."
