Lily Allen hires teenage DJ for wedding

7th June 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Lily Allen has hired a 12-year-old boy to DJ at her upcoming wedding.

The singer is set to marry her partner Sam Cooper in Gloucestershire, England, on Saturday. Few details about the ceremony have been revealed as the couple are keen to keep the nuptials secret, but it's been revealed Lily has picked an unusual artist as her entertainment.

The 26-year-old was amazed when she heard a tape Ted Lavender stage name Ted at the Controls had made and immediately asked him to perform for her 150 guests.

"I do a lot of practising in my bedroom and I don't get nervous, except at the beginning," he told British newspaper The Sun.

"But mostly it's just really exciting when the crowd gets going. Lily's really nice and I'm looking forward to really rocking her party."

Ted will play a variety of reggae and ska tunes at the reception. He became known after appearing at several music festivals, although he's not planning to pursue DJ'ing as a career.

"I want to be an antiques dealer and I'll probably do DJ'ing at the weekends," he explained.

The boy's father Andy is thrilled his son will play for Lily. Ted learnt to DJ using his dad's records and the whole family are going along to support him.

Andy explained his daughter Sarah is Lily half-sister, although it was the pop star's decision to invite Ted to spin some tunes. (C) Cover Media
