(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton have rekindled their friendship, according to reports.

The two Hollywood socialites partied together in Malibu over the weekend which was a surprise to many onlookers.

According to TMZ, Lindsay went over to Paris' beach home for a small get together with some of the heiress' closest friends.

Paris' sister Nicky, actress Emma Roberts and Inception star Lukas Haas were also there for the day of summer fun.

"Everyone was so surprised when Lindsay walked in and we thought they didn't get along. But they immediately gave each other a big hug," a source told the site.

The group had fun on the beach, lounged in Paris' hot tub and later danced the night away.

But the insider said Lindsay was completely sober and stuck to soft drinks all night.

Paris is said to be "very excited" about getting close to Lindsay once more and said that she "loved seeing her again".

Just this past May, Paris issued an apology to Lindsay after making a sarcastic reference to her recent legal problems on her reality show. Earlier this year, Lindsay pleaded no contest to stealing a $2,500 necklace from a jewellery store.

Paris had given her earrings to a homeless woman who had mistaken her for Lindsay, when Paris said that if she were Lindsay she would be "stealing the earrings" and not "giving them away". (C) Cover Media
