Lulu warns of fake tan perils

(Cover) - EN Star Style - Lulu has warned women with pale skin never to apply false tan to their face or theyll look orange.

The beautiful 61-year-old singer is famed for her fiery locks and porcelain skin, although she says in the past she used to experiment with tanning products to achieve a more olive complexion, and it was disastrous.

Lulu now understands to only use blusher in order to brighten-up her face, rather than applying full-on fake tan.

When I was younger, I always had a bit of an orange look, so I absolutely don't go there anymore. If your skin is pale, don't use fake tan on your face - instead, warm up the complexion with blusher, she advised in British newspaper The Daily Telegraph.

The stylish star offered her tips on how to achieve a sun-kissed look, warning there is a real art to applying blusher. Lulu says ladies should never put blusher on too heavily either, as that could end up looking just as bad as false tan.

Brush a light powder blush all over the cheeks and work up towards the hairline, but don't apply straight from the pot. You should put your brush in the pot, swirl it around and then shake off any excess. You can always build colour, she advised. (C) Cover Media
