September 11, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Actor turned director Madhupal is going to start shooting for his second movie as a director by the second of this November. He debuted in direction with the Malayalam movie Thalappavu, which received applause from the critics.
The second film of Madhupal's will feature award winning Malayali actor Sreenivasan, who is known for his comic performances. Sreenivasan will play the protagonist of the film. The director has not yet finalized a title for his movie. Popular Malayalam actor Nedumudi Venu and renowned Malayali comedian Innocent will be playing important roles in this movie.
The directorial debut film of Madhupal starred Prithviraj, Atul Kulkarni, Dhanya Mary, Lal and Rohini. It was screened in Indian Habitat Film Festival 2009 and 13th International Film Festival of Kerala 2008. The movie won the Kerala State Film Award for the 'Best Actor' and Madhupal received the award as the 'Best Debutant Director'.
Thalappavu also won the Kerala Film Critics Award for 'Best Film', 'Best Script writer', 'Best Director', Amateur Little Theatre Award for 'Best Debutant Director' as well as 'Sohan Antony Memorial Film Award' for 'Best Director'. Madhupal debuted in acting with the 1994 movie Kashmeeram.
The grand success of his first movie as a director has motivated the director to go ahead with the second venture. Hopefully, he manages to earn accolades for second movie too!
