We would be in short of words to describe this beauty of Bollywood. She is a great dancer with a ravishing smile and grace; she is called the 'Dhak Dhak' girl of Bollywood. It is Madhuri Dixit's birthday today.
When Madhuri entered the industry she was never considered as a promising actress. But she made everyone rephrase the attitude and made the audience go gaga after her toes tapped on the song 'Ek Do Teen'. She received her first ever nomination for Filmfare Best Actress Award for her work in 'Tezaab'.
There was no looking back for her since then. She ruled the 90s with her versatile and graceful moves under legendary choreographer Saroj Khan. 'Ram Lakhan', 'Beta', 'Khalnayak', 'Dil', 'Saajan', 'Hum Aapke Hain Koun' and the list of blockbusters go on.
After doing Mujra and Kathak dance moves, she proved that she was not only meant for the gracious performances. She enthralled the audiences with her contemporary moves in 'Pukar' with Prabhu Deva and 'Dil To Pagal Hai' with Shah Rukh Khan.
Speaking about her roles, they all are path breaking; the suppressed Mohini in 'Tezaab', the outspoken and smart Nisha of 'Hum Aapke Hain Koun', the vengeful wife Shivani in 'Anjaam', the headstrong possessive Anjali in 'Pukar', the lover girl courtesan Chandramukhi in 'Devdas', indeed a versatile endless list.
Madhuri has won five Filmfare Best Actress Awards and she holds the record for the highest number of Best Actress nominations at Filmfare, with 13 in the category. In 2008, she was awarded the reputed, Padma Shri, India's fourth-highest civilian award, by the Government of India.
But the 'most-wanted' actress took a break after she got married and flew to the U.S. But the lady returned with a bang after a hiatus with 'Aaja Nachle'. Today the actress is in full swing doing movies, attending events and judging between reality shows. She will soon be seen in the movie 'Dedh Ishqiya' and also in an item number with Ranbir Kapoor in 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani'.
She is an idol for all the dancers and they would love to have her grace any day.
Fridaymoviez wishes Madhuri a very Happy Birthday!!
