At at time when things were going on a right track for the release of "Malligadu", a film starring Karthi in the lead role, Ameer, the director of the movie, has approached the Police against it.

"Malligadu" is the Telugu dubbing version of Tamil hit "Paruthiveeran", directed by Ameer. The movie set in the rural backdrop had Priyamani in the lead role and it won a National Award for her.

In his complaint, Ameer had alleged that he was cheated by producer Gnanavelraja. He said, the movie ("Paruthiveeran") has been dubbed in Telugu without his knowledge and being a director of the film, he was not paid the royality.

The director, who is currently busy with Aadhi Bhagawan starring Jayam Ravi, has requested Greater Chennai Police Commissioner J K Tripathy to initiate necessary action against Gnanavelraja.
